While rationalizing his “need“,
Gehazi succumbed, to greed;
Naaman’s gold was his aim,
So he lied, in God’s name —
And got leprosy, God decreed.
COMMENTARY: See 2nd Kings 5:14-27 & 1st Thessalonians 2:5 & Hebrews 13:5. Gehazi used religious-ministry-cloaked deceit to embezzle some secret loot, but God revealed Gehazi’s “secret” and struck Gehazi with leprosy (and God decreed this curse via the mouth of the prophet Elisha), in order to exhibit just how ugly his covetousness and deceit really were.
